Our mission
The Kehidupan Anda Foundation was established in 2001 to help the Dutch Simone Gerritsen build a school in the village of Tongkaina in North Sulawesi.
Until then, there were no opportunities for village children to get further education than primary school.
Non-profit – plenty of results
The foundation does not make any profit, instead helping children aged 6-18 to go to school and in this way, through decent education, creating a better life for themselves and their immediate families.
Perspectief op de toekomst
Since the construction of the school started in 2006, we have helped more than 100 children find jobs in the tourism sector.
Our 3 pillars
Kehidupan Anda supports 3 different projects: facilities, such as building and maintaining the facilities; operational: support from the teachers and the ecological projects and our now famous study fund.
Sponsor parents
Through donations from sponsor parents, the foundation has been able to pay school fees for children whose parents were unable to do so. Donations also contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the facilities, such as building a library or extra classrooms.

Simone Gerritsen
Project initiatorExperienced PADI Course Director who trains Indonesian kids to become dive guides. She lives in North Sulawesi since 1996 and is the main founder of the school project.
Paul Meijer
ChairPaul is responsible for day to day operations of the foundations. Besides chairing the foundation, he loves diving and underwater videography.
Yvonne Jacobs
SecretariatThe the secretariat, Yvonne compiles and gathers all information to write about our school. Besides this, she also maintains contact with our teachers.
Rob Lagerweij
TreasurerBeing a former entrepreneur enables Rob to keep an eye on the foundation's cash flow. All donations and funding from sponsors go through him.

ANBI-Status (PDF)
From 1 January 2014, the regulations for Public Benefit Institutions (ANBIs) changed. In a letter dated 20 July 2013, the tax authorities gave instructions for elaborating the data about the foundation.
Agreement periodic gift in money
Kehidupan-Anda is an ANBI foundation with RSIN/fiscal (identification) number 820099260.
This means that your donations are tax deductible if you have have entered into Periodic Gift In Money Agreement with the foundation.
