7 of them will get a job in the hotel industry. One already has secured her place, 2 others have decided to enlarge their chances and study more in the local technical college, called politeknik.

They can do so with a generous scholarship from the college, which we negotiated in exchange for the huge hotel equipment, which was donated by the government, and could not be used by our small and modest school. This is another story…
The rest will surely succeed in finding a nice job in the city or nearby resorts.

10 of the other students graduated for the ‘tour & travel’ departement, which is the cover name for the dive industry students. 1 girl will not be diving, but will really find her way in the travel industry, but the 9 others have already a ‘place to go’.

Glendy, Jilly, Garen and Enjel will go to Bali and join Karang Divers.
Marcelita will also go to Bali and will get her training and job placement at the All 4 Diving Bali.
Theo and Marchel will leave for Luwuk, in Central Sulawesi to re-enforce the staff of Wallacea resort and liveaboards. There they will also meet many alumni from the school.

And last but not least there are Filia and Nikita, our absolute youngest graduates so far.
Because both of them are just 16 years old, they are not allowed yet to take full responsibility over other divers, thus hey stay in Thalassa and will, slowly, do their divemaster training before they (have to) move on to other locations.

So, all to all, we can be proud again with this years’ result. Especially our sponsors should be proud; they have made this possible for these young people. No less that 12 out of all 18 students, could finish their school because they received a scholarship from you.

Thank you on behalf of the students and I sincerely hope, that you will continue to contribute to the development and future of the children from the villages in North Sulawesi and beyond.

I love being part of Kehidupan Anda and sharing all the activities at the school. My daily activities include taking care of my father and working at Thalassa as a multimedia assistant. I enjoy photography and making and editing videos.
